Six months ago we walked away from our home and everything we owned.
It was one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever had to make as a family. When you leave behind a house, you don’t just leave walls and furniture. You leave the spaces where your children grew up, the little routines that made life feel normal, and the comfort of a place that felt like yours.
For a long time after that, I struggled to create again.
Creativity has always been my way of making the world feel beautiful and safe, but when life feels uncertain, it can be hard to find the energy for it.
Slowly though, little by little, we’re allowing some magic back into our lives.
This room is part of that.
Not a perfect ending.
Just a small beginning.
A space designed to feel calm, safe and full of wonder again.

Designing Emilia’s Flower Room
For Emilia’s room, I wanted something soft and joyful. A space that felt light, playful and comforting without feeling childish.
The floral wall decals bring the entire room to life. Scattered gently across the wall, they create a whimsical meadow effect that feels dreamy but still simple and calm.
Paired with Emilia’s custom 3D Ribbon name sign and little floating 3D hearts, the wall becomes a quiet focal point in the room, something personal and meaningful that belongs just to her.
Soft pink bedding, warm timber tones and simple white furniture keep the palette gentle and balanced. Nothing feels overwhelming, just peaceful and warm.
Sometimes the most comforting rooms are the ones that feel effortless.

A Luxe Look Without the Luxury Price Tag
One of my favourite elements in this room is the scalloped hardwood furniture.
The bed frame brings warmth and texture into the space while the soft scalloped detailing adds just the right amount of charm. It feels timeless, feminine and beautifully made.
A special thank you to Luxo Living, whose stunning solid hardwood scalloped furniture helped make this room feel incredibly luxe for a fraction of the cost.
Their pieces completely elevated the space and brought so much warmth into the room.
It’s a reminder that beautiful design doesn’t always have to come with a huge price tag.

Creating Little Moments of Magic
One of my favourite corners of the room is Emilia’s vanity space.
With the soft glow of the mirror lights, her makeup brushes neatly tucked away and her favourite little treasures displayed, it feels like a tiny grown-up moment in a room still full of childhood magic.
These small spaces matter.
They’re where kids imagine, dream, play and slowly grow into themselves.

Sometimes Rebuilding Starts Small
When everything in life feels uncertain, rebuilding doesn’t always begin with a whole new home.
Sometimes it begins with something much smaller.
A bedroom.
A wall full of flowers.
A space where a child can feel safe again.
♥️ Sometimes rebuilding starts by creating one small but safe, magical space…
Even if it’s just for a little while.
And right now, that is more than enough.
