YOU COULDN’T HELP BUT WONDER… DOES SHE ONLY STYLE KIDS’ ROOMS?
I jumped at the chance to work with James Lane to give our dining room a glow up!
We’re currently renting, but when choosing the furniture for our dining area, I had our forever home in mind. I selected furniture from the Tulum range… giving off relaxed coastal vibes, it will perfectly compliment the aesthetic of our forever home… I’ll be sharing more on that project soon, watch this space. The Tulum range is made from durable and long lasting mango wood and rattan, great to handle the demands of family life.
I chose the longer, 2100mm dining table. Our future dining room is much larger than here in our rental, so the bigger the table, the better. I’ll likely add a fabric arm chair at each end of the table in our forever home. Maybe something like this (if the chair height is suitable of course):
The buffet provides extra storage for a special dinner setting, cutlery and table decor. Currently we’re using it to hideaway mail, and kids artworks from school.
After selecting the furniture, I chose the wallpaper, followed by the artwork, rug and pendant. I was lucky enough to already have the pot and plant, the colour of the pot perfectly complimented the artwork. I added a timber pot plant stand to give the plant some height.
I wanted the space to be calming and neutral with a hint of fun and soft colour… in comes the wallpaper and art! When I first saw the gorgeous prints by Little Peach and Pip, I knew I had to have them. Don’t they just remind you of sunshine and tropical holidays?
The colour palette includes natural timber for warmth plus hints of crisp white, peach, bone and mint. The beautiful rug and pendant add texture, interest and a sense of cosiness. I kept the styling simple with white vases, a bowl and a candle.
HERE IS MY INITIAL MOOD BOARD:
Checkers wallpaper in bone
Tulum dining table (2100), Tulum dining chairs x6 and Tulum buffet
